Accountant with English language skills
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The purpose of this role is to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all accounting processes that support our commercial operations in Poland. By managing end‑to‑end bookkeeping, financial reporting, and statutory requirements, the role safeguards the company’s financial reliability and enables timely, data‑driven decision‑making. Additionally, this position serves as a key partner to the finance team and cross‑functional departments, contributing to smooth month‑end closing, transparent financial controls, and effective business collaboration.
OPPORTUNITIES
-Verify the formal and accounting correctness of financial documents within a trading company.
-Record accounting documents in the system in accordance with the Polish Accounting Act.
-Manage trade settlements across a group of entities, including bank statements, prepayments, overpayments, and balance reconciliation.
-Participate in month‑end and year‑end closing processes as well as in preparation of balance sheet work.
-Prepare statutory and corporate reports such as GUS, JPK VAT, CIT, and internal group reports.
-Work in accounting and workflow systems including JDE, SAP Concur, and electronic approval tools.
-Perform additional tasks assigned by the Chief Accountant or Finance Director.
BACKGROUND
We are looking for an experienced Accountant who has already worked independently in a similar role, ideally within a wholesale or distribution environment.
The ideal candidate has a relevant educational background in accounting, finance, or related fields, combined with a strong practical understanding of Polish accounting and tax regulations.
Strong communication skills, the ability to set priorities, and effective time management are essential, along with a good command of spoken and written English for daily collaboration in an international environment.
